The vacuum molding process begins with
having loaded the cavity mold with fiber and then bringing the semi-flexible
upper mold half into the cavity, making a closed molding cavity condition. The
resin then feeds around the resin channel - around the parameter of the mold -
and once the resin fills the channel, it then begins to enter the actual mold
cavity. As it begins to enter the cavity, the signal is sent from the VMPC
sensor on the mold skin to the pump head, which will control the flow rate and
pressures entering the mold, giving us a concise resin flow and part thickness
in the end of our molding.
